Face Paint...

Sometimes after a hard day I like to paint myself different colors, and remind myself that even though life can be hard sometimes, it's always beautiful, one just needs to find the beauty in the black and white situations.

Theee September Issue....

I must say I was super excited when my Vogue arrived this month. Not just for the reason that it was September, everyone knows the September Issue of Vogue is the Bible of fashion, but because I am one who likes to know things ahead of time and so I know who the amazing person that would be the cover of the famous issue already was, long before it arrived. I was so thrilled when I realized the cover was Gaga. I mean she perfect!! Thee fashion bible puts my biggest art inspiration of the cover, yes please! She was amazing! It was amazing! And this cover was especially special because it was the 120 anniversary of Vogue, yippee! I remember getting my Vogue last September and thinking, "there is no way they can top this, 858 pages??" But they topped it! 916 pages of fashion!! And Gaga, was just amazing! The hair, the wardrobe, the makeup, everything was perfectly done...thank you Marc Jacobs!! Marc Jacobs was the main designer of Gaga's spread and created the amazing cover dress. I could not have been more happy with the September issue, and I was so happy that it went to such a deserving person. We all know Gaga supports and breaths fashion, and it was a great way for the fashion industry to show her, exactly where she should be. I had always hoped she would be booked for another Vogue cover, and I was secretly going for this one, because I knew it was a big deal, and was very disappointed that she would be touring throughout September. Of course leave it to Gaga to take her love for fashion and her fans to make them both work together.

Mustache Men...

I saw this on pinterest, not so long ago and decided that I would have to do this for myself. Transforming regular boring plugs into cute faces, yes please! The mustache ones were my favorite! I don't know why, but I have this things for mustaches!! (for fun, I wouldn't want my boyfriend or husband to have one.) Anyways after saving the picture on my phone, and going through my pictures each time saying I want to do that, I finally took the time one afternoon to do them, yay!! These are only two of my examples, my room has about 10 plugs in it and I did all of them, but of course the mustache men are my favorite. (:

Crayon art...

I am addicted to pinterest, and when I saw the crayon art phase going through the boards I knew I had to try it. I went to Michaels, bought a canvas and a ton of crayons and set to work.
This is my first ever crayon art piece. It's not the best I've seen, or the best that I, myself, have done, but it was a start...I did it!!!
Advice on making your own crayon art...It makes a mess, so laying down a sheet or newspaper is a good idea, and I don't just mean right under the canvass, but all around. Sometimes the crayons splatter and spray onto things around it so its better to be prepared, then to ruin furniture around you. Always aim the hairdryer down, otherwise the crayons with only melt down the first couple drips, and not cover the entire canvas. Lastly, if you want to add some splatter to your piece, and not just the crayons melting down...take a crayon and hold it up to the canvass sideways, and aim the blow dryer at the crayon, that way when it melts it splatters on rather than running down. The fun thing about doing these is that they are easy and fun, there are so many different colors and things to do with them, my latest one was a silhouette of princess Aurora dancing with prince Philip and the colors where all varies of pink, and light purples, it was different, and secretly my favorite one.

A Little Monster...

I have always been a fan of arts and crafts, so when my boss told me that there would be a fun drawing for the kidlets at my work to win a huge stuffed lion I was super excited. It got even more exciting when she handed me the box the tickets would be stored in, and asked if I would want to decorate it? She knows me so well! Of course I wanted to decorate it! I immediately started brainstorming, and actually had a shopping list of things I would need made before I even left work that day...This is how the box turned out! An old animal cracker box, turned into a glittery purple monster for the kidlets to put their tickets! I even carved a slit into the top for the tickets so that the lid was not taken off, scared that it would cause the ears to come off. Even though the monster creates a bit of a glitter mess in the spot that it sits on the counter no one cares, because who could get made at a cute little purple monster?!

I'm Chuck Bass....

So usually I write about the crazy things I do well...I didn't make these shirts but I defiantly want one, so I had to post them!!
And if you ask me why Chuck is my favorite character on gossip girl my only response will be...because he's Chuck Bass!

When your feeling down try painting your hands a different color...

Sometimes people can surprise you...I've always hated surprises.

I like having my day planned out perfectly, surprises throughout my day do not always go so well because I like to be prepared for them. The other day I got a surprise from my doctor, and I was not really sure what to think, or how I felt. I was not sad, I was not happy, no tear, no smile. I went to the doctor, mind fully prepared for what I was going to hear, like I said I like to prepared, but after having it magnified in front of me and hearing what I would have to do and the choices I would have to make, I wasn't so sure. Later that night I was sitting there in front of my mirror staring when it hit me. I was not sitting in a shallow pool drowning of sorrow, but I was upset. I knew that there are people out there who have it far worst then I do, but this was my own problem, and I am allowed to not like it. However, I'm not the kind of person who likes to feel down for to long, I prefer to be in a good, perky, weird mood, as people describe it, so I decided to paint my hands. I like to add color and hope to situations that appear black and white, because after all if your feeling down, try painting your hands a different color...

CATS...the musical??

Ever since I was a kid I have loved musicals. Not the cheesy musicals such as High School Musical where people just randomly break out in song, and suddenly everybody knows the dance, but the real kind...BROADWAY!
CATS, the Broadway musical, became one of my favorite movies at a young age. My mom's best friend made my sister and I watch it one day while she was babysitting us. We were instantly hooked. Dancing cats?! What kid wouldn't be into that?

Now that I'm older I still love the musical. I watch it still, and sing along to all the songs. I was always, and still am mesmerized by the dancing and the makeup done by these performers.
As the pictures may show I did makeup like two of the cats in the musical and my sister did another. Like I have said before I am never bored...

Don't you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine...

As, I mentioned earlier, I hate the word bored, and I've been looking for a way to get glitter to stick to my face for months, add those two together and you finally get a solution...

               LIP GLOSS!!!

I smothered my face in lip gloss, dumped glitter into my hands, and POOF, I was suddenly covered in a million little shiny pieces.

...Just letting you guys all know though, lip gloss holds glitter a little too well...it took about an hour to scrub all the glitter off of my face, and during the washing process glitter was everywhere...it was definitely one of my more messy projects, but
there is something special about seeing your face as a beautiful, glittery masterpiece that makes the whole project worth while.

A Starry Night...

On a day when one has nothing to do, the word bored usually becomes a key word, and watching T.V. becomes an all day activity. Call me weird, but T.V. is boring in itself if you watch for too long of a time, and the word bored is not even a word in my dictionary. When there is nothing to do you simply make something to do...
So this white headboard has been sitting in our upstairs hallway for months, and like any worthless piece of furniture it did nothing but collect things that had no real spot to be. It made the hall look cluttered, and the headboard really just needed to disappear.
Well suddenly there was a day where I was not working and needed to do something to keep myself busy. I was standing in the hall, and so was the headboard, so I decided I would paint. I went to Walmart and bought some acrylic paint and brushes and went to work on my masterpiece.

I never expected to like the piece, and I never expected it would take so long. I never painted much before, but this was like opening a whole new world, where all I wanted to do was continue. I was automatically mesmerized by the strokes made by the brush, and I could't believe it was my hand that was in control.
I worked on this piece for about 4 hours before it was finished and unfortunately its still a headboard, and will be covered if anyone decides to use it again.
Currently I am trying to cut the headboard to where its just the starry night piece and I can hang it in my bedroom. I am starting to think that was not the best place to paint a picture but at least, for now, the headboard is still in the hallway for people to see.
